Sunshine and Family

I was astonished this morning to see forsythia blossoms on a bush at the end of the driveway.

Mighty early compared to past years.

Usually, here at the Lovestead, the buds don't start bursting until about the third week in April.

I don't know what all this early spring will lead to in the upcoming months.

For now, though, it's a welcome sight, and we're enjoying it.

During these past few days of sunshine, I've painted fence and cleaned up the yard by hand and with the lawnmower.

I've transplanted some lettuce in an outdoor planter, and, so far, it hasn't died.

Yesterday I took the blankets off from the horses.  My, were they dirty.

Now, the horses are dirty because they have enjoyed rolling in the barnyard dirt and snoozing in the sun.

This morning we're getting some spitty rain.  I hope it doesn't hang around too long because I'd like to keep moving with outdoor projects.

After a full afternoon of work---in the yard for me and in the woods for Bill, we loaded up the dogs and took the spectacular drive to Hope.

Bill had birthday dinner Saturday night, but I figured as pretty as it was, we should not waste an opportunity to go to Ice House Pizzeria.

Besides the pizza, the views of Lake Pend Oreille and the islands were about as pretty as they can get.

While driving to Hope, we received a couple of photos of the grandpuppies.  Willie and Debbie and the pups had arrived and settled in for the next few days on the Oregon coast.

Dogs and peeps were having a great time with the beach just outside their Air B and B.

On our way back from Hope, we enjoyed a long conversation with Annie who has arrived home in Seattle from her Australian adventure.

She shared several highlights of the trip, including some details about the wedding at the geocaching event.

One snippet reminded me that, though she didn't do so at the wedding, Annie has a license to perform ceremonies and has done so.

Bill had a wonderful birthday, especially thanks to the weather.

And, so we move on today with no basketball to watch and just one more family birthday to celebrate, but that's a few days away.

I guess we are once again in transition mode.

One more thing:  it made my day to see the following article in this morning's Bonner County Daily Bee

Sherry May is our neighbor, whom I've always considered selfless and sweet.

The award mentioned could not have gone to a more deserving person.

Congratulations, Sherry.  So happy for you.

Happy Wednesday.

And, we get to live here!

Almost 77 years of this view and it never ceases to be amazing.

Miss Bailey and big brother Joe seem to really like the ocean shore.
