A New Road

Just an assortment of photos today, taken yesterday along the road from Malin Head to Dublin.

We took a "slight detour" yesterday and spent some time walking through the downtown where Willie and Debbie spent the night before flying home yesterday.

We had never been to Carrickmacross, which isn't too far from Dublin.

It's a cute, bustling town, and we could see why Willie and Debbie appreciated their time there.

Other than several other convenience-store stops, we pretty much focused on arriving at our hotel in the Dublin Airport complex.

Bill will turn the car in this morning, and then we'll start the last segment of airport insanity.  Hoping for no surprises like Annie had when she missed one flight and her scheduled flight the next day was cancelled.

We just want to get home.  That will happen tomorrow after we spend the night in Spokane.

Doggies are getting groomed today, and I don't know if the dogs or their family will be more excited for the reunion. This has been a long trip, so we're hoping they aren't too upset with us for leaving them.

Another exciting part of arriving home is to see a newly paved South Center Valley Road.

Since we left, trees along the right of way were cut and a fierce storm did some damage to other trees.

So, it will be a dramatically different view once we turn off from Selle Road to pavement. No more dirt road in front of our house.

All exciting.  Lots of hours to go but the thrill of seeing Bridie and Foster and HOME makes it worth the time spent getting there.

Happy Tuesday. I'll probably take a break from posting tomorrow morning.
