The first person I met yesterday, after another unproductive and frustrating call with a Humana agent, added some sweetness in a day that had gone sour with both the phone call and the letter in the mail showing $0.00 as my drug-bill reimbursement.
Erin, co-owns Pour Authority on Cedar Street in Sandpoint. While stepping out of the door of his establishment, he immediately paid me a generous compliment about my blog.
"I needed that," I said, explaining to him that after the umpteenth phone call with this company's agents, I had gotten in the car to go for a drive in hopes of changing the subject which was once more disordering my mind.
Erin told me about a family member who had worked in a medical office where much of her time was spent dealing with insurance companies.
"It's all very arbitrary," he suggested.
That unplanned and pleasant interaction with Erin temporarily erased frustration and made my day.
During our short visit, I asked him when Ed and Karen Robinson and the gang were coming to perform their Celtic music at Pour Authority again.
Bill and I sat through one of their gigs at Pour Authority earlier this year and loved it.
They'll be back Dec. 15, according to Erin. Bill and I will probably do our best to be there on that Sunday afternoon.

In other news, today is our little Foster's 13th birthday. I have already sung the birthday song to him.
I don't know if he appreciated that, but we'll try to make his special day a good one.
He's the best little guy ever and always so resilient, in spite of his current blindness.

GONZAGA GAME DAY No. 1 for Feast Week
11:30 a.m. PDT
ESPN
Gonzaga vs. West Virginia
College hoops feast week continues, and the ZAGS begin their Bahamas tournament action this morning. They'll also be playing tomorrow and Friday, with times depending on whether they win or lose games.
Definitely a great athletic feast for the holiday weekend.
GO, ZAGS !!!!
Schweitzer looked a little heavenly yesterday when the gloom lifted and blue skies appeared out of the clouds.
Some alley art in downtown Sandpoint.
Gift items on display at Cedar Street Bridge.
When I walked into Bluebird Bakery yesterday to make a purchase, I noticed the art on the wall.
Pretty clever and funky theme using electrical plug-ins and light switches to complete the illustrations.
Two big and tasty cookies almost made it home after I left town.
The gingersnap in the bag, however, was just too much to resist on my drive. Best gingersnap ever, and I've had some good ones over the years.
Bill enjoyed the white chocolate cranberry cookie.
And, so the day sweetened after the Humana call.
Good food, good eye candy and good peeps can always make a difference whenever we need to "redirect."
Thanks, Erin and Jill.
Happy Wednesday.
Some of Annie's photos from Ireland, taken yesterday. Enjoy. These include Kenmare, Killarney, Killarney National Park and other features along the Ring of Kerry. She has had some beautiful weather so far in her travels.
