Twas a relatively quiet Friday night in Sandpoint when we parked and strolled a couple of blocks to the restaurant and enjoyed the various colors of abundant blossoms on the trees along the sidewalk.
It's a gorgeous time in downtown Sandpoint.
My apple tree here at home is about to burst open with its spring show. And, happily, the remaining two plum trees that were here when we moved here are filled with blossoms.
While working at the stand-up planters in the kennel near the house, I can hear a concert of honey bees buzzing away at their work on the service berry bushes.
I learned, after arriving home last night, that my daughter Annie and I were admiring ladies' room accessories around the same time last evening, only hundreds of miles apart.
While I was taking pictures of the tastefully designed women's room at MickDuff's Restaurant , Annie was doing the same at a restaurant in Los Angeles.
After receiving her photo, it appears that I should have been in LA doing my duty.
Below: we are so proud and happy for Ann-Marie and Mark, owners of Lawcus Farm Guesthouse in Stoneyford, Ireland.
Stoneyford is a bedroom community of KilKenney.
We have stayed at Lawcus Farm, which is located on the King River, numerous times and love the beauty, all the animals, the amazing projects that Mark envisions and completes on the farm and, of course, the owners and their staff who provide an unforgettable experience.
They are very deserving of this award.
Congratulations.

The 151st Kentucky Derby:
A horse named Journalism is the favorite in today’s race, with 3-to-1
odds. How on earth does a horse get a name like Journalism?
Its
co-owner, Aron Wellman, told LAist the name is partly a reflection of the horse’s lineage — its mother was
named Mopotism — and partly his own, as a former sports editor of his
high school newspaper.
--from the New York Times Newsletter
After reading several items about Journalism and his co-owner, I wrote Aron Wellman a note yesterday.
He wrote back, saying: Thanks Marianne! Let’s bring him home a winner! Appreciate your
sentiments and support!

That was very nice of him. I do hope his horse Journalism wins today and that the other kind of good journalism wins out for the good of this nation.
We have a cycling race starting off just down the road from our driveway, so I'm excited to get my morning chores finished and get out there in time to take some photos.
Happy Saturday.
