Tuesday This and That

Sure signs of fall are upon us, and, by golly, at last, it IS the season.

Color schemes are changing.

I turned on a heater this morning and wore extra layers outside.

It looks like, once and for all, we can say good bye to that summer heat and hello to some crisp, cooler days ahead.

I'm thrilled to see the ten-day weather report which indicates that our 60th-year high school reunion this weekend will have lovely days to go along with the fun.

After a year of planning, that thought is most welcome.

We had our last reunion-planning committee meeting yesterday at DiLuna's Restaurant.

Thank you, Karen and Amy, for taking good care of us during our reunion planning.

Silliness abounded.

There's a special guest coming to the reunion, and he joined us for lunch.

He was a popular guy, and I'm not talking about the one on the left.  He's a popular guy too, but he's a committee member.

The excitement about seeing several dozen classmates for the first time in ten years later this week was definitely visceral among our group yesterday.

We dealt with the details of this weekend's events and then just had too much fun.

It's been a phenomenal reunion committee, almost like family.

I told them that if their enthusiasm and excitement transfers to all who are attending, we should have a great reunion ahead.

Mike is bringing his hot red convertible to the reunion.  Its radio will be cranking out  '60s tunes.

Twas a two-Judy affair with the reunion guest.

Karen wasn't being silly because she could stay for only just a short time, but I must mention that she is our decorating queen who has put together some neat and creative nostalgia for the reunion.

A floral resurgence has been happening at the Lovestead.

Cooler nights and not-so hot days have led to my posies figuring they can quit withering and go on with their color show.

I'm glad they survived all the heat and never-ending dry days of this past summer.

Though the rose bushes are alive with bright red rose hips, they're still blooming.

Today it's back to the mundane yard and garden projects, mowing, cleaning up, watering, etc.

My potato crop doesn't look that great, but I'll pull the plants and see what's hiding underground.

I'll also probably put the leaf bags on the lawnmower and start Leaf-Collecting 2025, which will go on for weeks.

Fall clean-up takes time, but it's also a fun time for outdoor enjoyment.

Time to get started.

Happy Tuesday.
