T-minus and hours

Annie has me set up with wireless from her house here in Wallingford, so I'm good to go for blogging this morning. In just 3.5 hours we'll be on our way, and she guarantees we'll be snorkeling by the end of the day.

So, there's not much to report except a good flight over this way yesterday. Mt. Rainier was spectacular with no clouds obstructing the view.

The party at the Smith Tower was a fun experience. Good food, good wine and nice folks. I met lots of Annie's co-workers, including some of the regulars who've actually come east to visit the Lovestead.

My morning walk for a cup of coffee took me to the Chevron convenience store in downtown Wallingford, so I've experienced a bit of early-morning local color, basically folks loading up their tanks and their coffee cups on the way to work.

No need to carry on much more until Maui. I'm like a little kid at Christmas today, knowing there's a great big travel package, filled with oodles of new adventures and waiting to be unwrapped.

Let the unwrapping begin! Next post: Maui!

I do hope you find time to send us some pictures from there? Having never been there myself, I am wondering if it is as great as some say it is...

I am absolutely LOVING sharing a bit of this journey with you. I remember my first trip to Hawaii (lived in L.A.) and wondering why I hadn't gone before. It was easier to get there than to get "home" to Sandpoint!
Your writing and enthusiasm takes me right back there!
