Scenes on an Evening Walk

It's Monday after the Master's.  We Aussie fans are thrilled that a golfer from Down Under won the tournament.  Great day for Australia, for sure.

It's also Monday, the day of the tax man.  Well, Bill mailed off ours---hefty checks included---late last week.

So, we'll weep no more and hope we can make substantially less money next year to avoid the pain.   What's wrong with this picture, anywho???

It's also Monday of New Deck Week.  A load of lumber arrived here at 7, and soon Amos will be here to start using the beams and boards.

It's also a SUN day after a so-so Sunday.

The sun did come out a few times yesterday.  I had time to mulch the dead leaves and scraggly grass from a good portion of my lawn.  It looks significantly better. That project, along with scraping some more paint from barnyard fence boards,  can move on today.

At a slow pace, that is.

I caught someone's yucky cold and it's not fun.  This latte is adding a little pep, and I'm sure the sunshine will keep me going through the day.

On my walk last night, I took a stroll through the woods, which is snowless now and getting dryer each day.

It's been a while, so it was neat, as usual,  to view the fun sights, like the bridge over quiet water in the back section and one of Bill's tidy wood piles.

The dogs had their usual great time, and Kea provided a portrait-like pose for me in the hay field.  Couldn't resist the photo.

Mt. Pend Oreille in the Cabinets got a good dump of snow over the weekend.  So, of course I had to snap.

Lily and Lefty perked up when I opened the barn door and said hello.  I've been back to shoveling stalls and carrying wood for overnight fires during the past week.

The horses are happy to be back in their comfort zone, and that is good because Moosie has found more comfort zones closer to our house.

We've got thousands of moose pebbles in the north lawn to prove it.

Moosie has also figured out Perimeter Dog.  Kea's intimidation factor has diminished since yesterday morning.

Last night while chomping on our apple trees, Moosie would have none of Kea's plea to get lost.   She made a few dirty looks at Kea and kept on chomping.

Kea kicked her out of the yard twice yesterday, but I think Moosie likes the place, so she'll leave when she's damn well ready.

We called Kea back inside and figured we'd see Moosie out there this morning, but no----her bedding area is at the end of Love Canal.

So, I think she's found all the comforts a moosie could ever hope for.  And, I think we'll be seeing her more often than not.

In the meantime, Perimeter Dog will have to find some other critter to chase away.

So, that's it on this Monday of so many things----best thing, being the sun.

Have a great day.
