Driving with The Toddster, etc.

It will take lots of towels to cover the seats in the car, but today's outing for Todd ought to help him get over the Stir-crazy Border Collie Blues.

He's been infirmed for a week now, and I'm betting he's getting pretty tired of the four walls in both of his hang-outs.

So, he'll join me on a trip to Spokane today while I drive to the airport to pick up Annie. She's spending the weekend in Sandpoint.

Todd still has a couple of stubborn raw spots on his rump, and touching anything can inspire some bleeding here and there . . . like his trip under the fence a few minutes ago after doing his business out in the woods.

All that aside, he looks pretty amazing for a dog lucky to be alive from a cougar attack. Most of the other wounds from his neck to his rump have all but dried up, and Todd is feeling a whole lot more chipper than even two days ago.

For that, we are all thankful.

We just won't have Todd look in the mirror for a while, as his self image could take a hit, seeing so much of his once-beautiful coat shaved down to the skin.

Seems I'm dealing with brain fog this morning, even though it's beautiful outside.  I told Bill after my walk that this is my kind of weather----dry, cold but not too cold, blue skies and little hints of spring emanating from the throats of singing birds.

The neighborhood is collectively hoping we've seen the last of the snow dumps for the winter.  We got a good one yesterday, so the plows came out AND the pull-behind snow blowers.

Jack, from down the road, beat us to the punch,  clearing out the driveway next door. He didn't know that Bill had been assigned plow duty for that driveway this week by another neighbor with a plow who's off on a trip.

Yesterday morning, when the snow was falling fast and furiously, Bill figured he'd go to work and then come home after lunch to plow----giving the white precipitation enough time to dump its full load.

Well, later when Jack drove by, he saw a need and cleaned out that driveway with his pull-behind snowblower, just before Bill arrived home to fire up the Kubota with its rear-end blade.

I'd already fired it up and had done some plowing along the lane but left the rest for Bill cuz I didn't want to take away the fun a man has with his tractor.

Even though the driveway next door had been cleared, Bill had enough snow to move in ours, so he did a fine job of cleaning out the parking areas.  Again, we hope it's the last time for this season.

I'm thinking I am suffering from brain fog this morning because of the ZAGS' loss last night. They just plain did not play well.  BYU came to win a game, and they did.

We're hoping for a rebound (literally and figuratively) tomorrow night when the ZAGS play in San Diego, and it's a 9 p.m. game.  Yuck!

Anyway, a lovely day ahead, I hope, and a fun weekend with Annie here.

So, I'll just shut up and wish all a happy Friday.
