My photographic arsenal has a new addition. It's officially called a Canon EFS 18-200 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. Now, that will probably be the last time that I ever spout off that name because I'm not a technically oriented person.
Since my mantra has always been to keep it simple, I'll just call it my new lens.
It's exciting to have a lens which features wide angle, normal and telephoto all in one, and it's going to be fun to experiment with it.
Today's photos offer a sampling of what it can do. Of course, the operator will hopefully improve with her technique.
Most photos were taken on a stroll through the yard last evening after we had another of those Tuesday afternoon surprise storms.
I picked up the lens in town at the Image Maker, put it on my camera and then drove around Ponderay's residential area looking for some fun photos. They're at the bottom.
Some blog readers may recognize the structure with three perspectives. About 18 years ago I took pictures at that same setting for a great big family reunion where each branch was evident through the color of their T-shirts.
A fun day for me way back then and fun to return to the spot where so much fun and laughter occurred 18 years ago.
Hope you enjoy the photos.

I thought yesterday's thunder storm and its accompanying downpour of hail and rain was gonna do a number on my reviving lettuce, but it just left mud specs, which can be washed off. |

This mama in Taylor's field must have known I had a new lens, so she posed. |

This beauty popped out yesterday. It's one of the lovely iris starts given to me a few years ago by Carol and Gary Pietsch. |

Anyone know where this is and what family inhabited it several decades ago? |

A classic scene, indeed. |

Lovely!!!
Beautiful pics! As you told that lens is all in one. I usually use a Tanrom 18-270 f3.5/6.3 very similar to yours.
Thank you, Alvaro. I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun with my camera.
