This handsome pair of dusty lawnmowers went out the door for $20 yesterday, maybe even cheaper. I think my sisters were willing to take whatever the mechanically-inclined-looking guy had in his pocket.
They don't work, but Laurie figured someone who knew how to install the spark plugs sitting on the deck could probably get them fired up.
The new owner said they should be happy mowers cuz he's got about 2 acres to mow.
Some deal-making occurred at yesterday's sale and some surprising items went out the door. Barbara and Laurie found a couple of old rakes and shovels without handles and stuck them in the inventory for sale.
An elderly lady came through and grabbed a handleless shovel without a price tag. When she brought it to the table, my sisters said, "One dollar."
Sold!
The lady went out the door but not before telling us she picks these things up at different sales for her hubby who keeps saying he's gonna do something artistic with them.
"He'd better get started," she said as she left.
We've got plenty more inventory for today, but yesterday's sales were brisk and fun. Even that downpour around noon didn't scare off the afternoon crowd.
We all agreed the best part of our sale was the visiting. Laurie took several groups on a tour to see the horses, and everyone seemed to enjoy that.
Today we're hoping Debbie brings in some more cash for her treasures. So, if you feel sorry for Debbie, come on out. As Willie said last night, they'll have another mouth to feed come Tuesday when Swiss Miss aka Laura arrives from Switzerland to spend a semester as an exchange student.
Gotta get going to help with the arena/yard sale preliminaries, so Happy Saturday.
Come by and see us: Corner of HWY 95 and Center Valley Road, just past Wood's Two Halves of Beef. We'll be in the arena from 8-4 p.m.
Good deals, for sure, and, yes, we do have "wiggle room" with our pricing.
Happy Saturday. |
