Beauty in Two Countries

We were blessed with yet another beautiful day in January yesterday, so we spent the afternoon enjoying it at one of our most favorite spots on earth, the majestic Kootenai Valley near Bonners Ferry.

In yesterday's case, we chose to walk trails through the National Wildlife Refuge, which has been affected by the government shutdown.

At one point, when we could hear the sounds of hundreds of geese across the valley, Bill said those geese were yelling, "Open the government!"

Could be.

Anyway, twas drop-dead beautiful every step of the way.  I did lose my Yaktrax a couple of times, but other than that, walking through all that beauty was phenomenal.

As usual, two eagles---probably among the most photographed in the world were perched in branches along the roadside, probably multi-tasking----posing while keeping an eagle eye out for fish.

Speaking of eyes, we found out out there along the trail.  Bill told me to turn it over, and we could find out who left it there.

Turned out that it was an anonymous eye.

No more words necessary.  I hope you enjoy the photos.

Happy Tuesday.

From the beautiful skies above Iceland . . . .

As I write this morning, Annie is in Iceland on her way back to Seattle.

Happily, through Internet magic, we can all enjoy what she was seeing as she landed.

Mighty pretty.  Thanks, Annie, for sharing.
