Saturday Slight

Yep, the first signs of Fall Fest were showing up at Schweitzer yesterday.

Vendors were set up, and visitors were trickling in as we walked through the village.

At first glance, Schweitzer looks like and is a great big construction zone.  The zone takes up most of the main parking lot, so visitors will park down below in a dirt parking lot.

The resort is running a bus shuttle to the Fall Fest site from the parking lot, so that was nice.

Bill, Rich and I strolled around the village and through the hotels, visiting with folks along the way.

I'm sure today's events will be going full throttle, along with the crowds.

We enjoyed our visit, especially without the big crowds.

We had visitors at the Lovestead yesterday.  The early morning crowd included a neighbor and his daughter and family from Texas.

It was fun meeting them, and we'll probably see them again.

Later, the owner of the two lost steers showed up, along with his kids to inform us that the steers had wandered to the Meserve Preserve next door.

Word is they'll stay there with Bert Wood's herd until the time is right to round them up.

I spent a little time over at my sisters' where I'll be taking some peeps pictures today.  Laurie was riding her mare Siri, while two other horses were enjoying a mutual back-scratching session.

My sisters, our son Willie and our niece Laura met with Rich, Bill and me last night at Matchwood Brewery.

Lots of family relationship talk among other things.

Twas a fun gathering.

Rich will be leaving today after he visits with Laura (a former Peace Corps volunteer).

It's been a great visit, and we hope he continues to find his way back to Sandpoint.

Got that, Cuz???

Happy Saturday.

Idaho Mountain Co. leather goods will be available at Schweitzer's Fall Fest.
