First, the lady above is not a member of our family.
She and her hubby and dog paddled by while we were having fun with our kayaks yesterday.
Bill saw them earlier and said they had been bird hunting.  They bagged two geese and two ducks.
I'm sure the pooch helped too.
Anyway, all six of us Brown/Tibbs siblings went kayaking yesterday.
Maybe not in the same place, but we were all on the water with our boats.
Five of us siblings (Kevin, Marianne, Barbara, Laurie and Jim) with other family members (Joyce and Cindy) paddled on Lake Pend Oreille while older brother Mike went kayaking with a friend over on the West Coast.
We in Idaho picked the perfect time to launch our boats.
The early afternoon sun was shining, and the cool wind we had felt at home was nonexistent, creating calm waters at the Drift Yard launch.
By the time we were arriving back at the launch a couple of hours later, clouds had rolled in, and there was a distinct feeling of fall with a sudden change to cooler temperatures.
Yesterday's paddling experience was a gabfest for some, some serious paddling time for others and photographic opportunities for those who brought along their cameras or cell phones and even some wet clothing for others.
We also noticed that our timing for the outing was good because the lake level had not gone down too much, but we also noticed that it's definitely on its way.
Lots of foliage was rising out of the water, and shoreline experiences meant dealing with mud in areas normally submerged during the summer months.
And, so it turned out to be a wonderful family paddle, followed later by dinner and more visiting at Jalapenos.
Truly another nice day in North Idaho.
This morning I felt a nip in the air.  We have not yet had a freeze this fall, but it could happen soon.
Happy Saturday.
