Saturday Slight in Seattle

The skies are blue and the temperature is almost bearable.

After driving across the state of Washington yesterday where the temperature reached 96 degrees, we arrived in Seattle and enjoyed a welcome break from the heat with lower 80s.

Annie told us a while back that she wanted us to come over for a weekend of baseball, soccer and other fun----all as part of our collective birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

It was a great day filled with surprise meetings of former students and new friends.

Sprague Lake rest stop meant a chance meeting with former students and family friends Cindy, Cheryl and Brent.  They were headed to Oregon to see more family.

Later, I met, in person, a couple of nice ladies with whom I've worked online during past stays at our Seattle Hotel Nexus.

Bridgit and Jessica just happened to be on site when we checked in. So, of course, a photo was needed.

We also saw a lot of pirates in full costume prior to the Seattle Seafair.  They loaded up in their "Moby Duck" and headed on their way while we caught the train to T Mobile Stadium to watch the Seattle Mariners host the Houston Astros.

While waiting in line, we met another familiar face from the past, another student named Lara who is now a teacher herself.  Again, a fun and exciting reunion.  I think it's been about 25 years since I've seen her.

Last night's 3-0 loss to the Astros meant the Mariners lead in their division is in jeopardy. The game and all the side adventures--food, souvenirs and post game fireworks---made for a lovely Friday evening experience.

Keeping this short because we have another busy and fun day planned, including a visit with some family members.

So, enjoy the photos, and Happy Saturday.
