Here, There; Down This Road and That

The Filipowski's calves and cows and bull were looking mighty pretty in their pasture of lush green grass last night.

The paving crews and their support staff were movin' on down the road this morning.

Yesterday, they finished the second coating of asphalt on our road, part of Center Valley and a portion of North Center Valley which intersects with Colburn-Culver.

According to a Facebook post from the county, the rest of Center Valley Road will be paved today.

So, no reason at all for us to encounter mud or dust in most of our neighborhood travels for the rest of the summer.

I wonder if Forest Siding is on the list for this year.  That would seal the deal in avoiding mud and dust.

We'll see.

For now, it's all good.  Bill and I took a " new pavement" drive last night just because.

That's whatcha do in the country---check things out.

Bill took the tractor to the woods yesterday with plans to move some logs.

His winter's worth of work has tidied up most of the mess made in the woods by last September's severe wind storm.

I loved the reflection on the side of the pickup yesterday.

A clean pickup can create a nice image.

Annie said she would be tired today.

She took a red-eye flight to the East Coast overnight.

Looks like she hasn't wasted any time getting on the road.

She'll be attending a big geocaching event in Morristown, West Virginia this weekend.

It's called the Wild and Wonderful Geowoodstock XXI.

The event promo tells participants they'll be geocaching in "almost Heaven" as they celebrate the 25th year of the sport of geocaching.

Meanwhile, Willie and Debbie are headed south to visit Debbie's family for the weekend.

Ma and Pa Love aren't going anywhere special, but we'll likely be on some back roads somewhere each day as the weather turns toward summer.

Those trips, of course, will be after lawn and garden work, horse moving and hose dragging for watering are completed each day.

Suddenly, with most garden goodies in the ground and some baby plants finally popping up through the soil, there's no end to the outdoor "to do's" each day.

And so it is spring and beautiful as we enter this weather change into some summer like weather.

I'm happy that we had some colder temperatures so that the spring lovelies could last through Memorial Day weekend.

Happy Friday. If you're traveling, be safe and have fun.
