Spring Life

Life has a way of being pretty fine.

That's true about our own and that of the endless species around us.

Life is taking on new visuals every day, almost hour by hour around the Lovestead.

We can hear it, see it, smell it, feel it and just plain love every second of it.

That's kinda how it is these May days as asparagus pops up seemingly out of nowhere, baby grass planted last week starts spreading in its topsoil and a very special rose blooms.

Pastels and bright hues provide a blend of lovely visual images pretty much every direction one looks.

All this constantly evolving life takes some care.

So, 125 feet of garden hoses gets tugged around the yard to water new hanging baskets, the fenced-in garden, established flower pots, that new grass and even a brand new colorful bird bath.

The tuggee of all that long stretch of garden hose figures that the twice-daily effort during these warm May days should add some life and tone to those old muscles.

Some of the life on the Lovestead started its coming out party yesterday.

From the hot house to the pots or the planters or to the garden soil came pansies, petunias, daisies, asters, snapdragons, nastYurshums and even some more lettuce.

Amidst all this developing plant life, birds sing, dogs run or fight over balls, cats hunt, horses graze and switch their tails, trying to encourage all that irritating life with wings and nasty stingers to bug off!

And, amidst all that, humans take it all in and probably give off a few more smiles than usual.

Yup, for the most part, life this time of the year is pretty dang fine, even if it involves a lot of constant tender loving care.

Happy Tuesday, and Happy 17th Birthday, Emma!
