Thursday This and That; TBT

We've had a significant weather change overnight.

It has included a good soaking rain.

More is on the way.

Still, for a brief moment this morning, the sun rise in the east created a stunning view.

The photo above was shot earlier this morning from a "room with a view":  our upstairs bathroom.

Spring life is moving along, and yesterday CB moved back home from his time spent at my sisters' with basic training.

He seemed happy to get home and start munching on green grass.

Lily, the same horse that whinnied for several hours after CB left a few weeks ago, hardly extended him a warm welcome.

A couple of sniff sniffs followed by wheeling around and throwing out fake kicks along with a warning sound gave CB the message once again about who is boss at the Lovestead.

Then, they all proceeded with their grass grazing.

CB came home, and Annie left her home in Seattle once more, bound for Berlin.

This trip included a six-hour layover in Dublin, where, as I type, she is visiting with her Camino de Santiago buddy, "Irish John."

Irish John O'Neill is getting to know the family in various venues around the world.

He first met Annie in Spain when she walked her first Camino.

Last year, he met our great-niece Justine for the first time in Portugal when Annie took Justine along on the Portugese leg of the Camino.

Later, last year, John met Bill and Marianne in Drogheda, Ireland.

So, I told Annie he needs to come to the Northwest to meet a few more family members.  BTW: John has a beautiful singing voice.  He and his choir sang at Saturday night Mass at the Vatican a couple of weeks ago.

During Annie's time in Berlin, she may meet some of Emma's family members.

The circle definitely widens and may it remain unbroken.

In other news, I took some fresh asparagus to my friends, Helen and Skip.

As I left their house, I saw lots of bumblebee action buzzing among the individual blossoms on their  beautiful rhododrendron.

As you can see below, the horses truly believe that the grass grows greener on the other side of the fence, even when they're in a pasture lush with grass.

Annie and Irish John earlier this morning in Dublin, Ireland.

Bill and Marianne with Irish John in Drogheda, Ireland, last October.

Annie's friend Rachel McKay on the left, and next to her sits our grand niece Justine.
On the right, Annie in the middle and Irish John next to her.

This was somewhere along the Camino de Santiago in Portugal last year.

TBT's:

Bill and I floated the Pack River in our pontoon boats a couple of years ago.

The river was teaming with recreationalists that day, including the Puckett sisters and their families.

This was a hike up Rapid Lightning Creek in late June, 2016.

We actually found, picked and sampled a generous supply of ripe huckleberries that day.

A fun time with family a few years ago.

Judy Thompson, Debbie, JT Thompson, Laura Laumatia, Justine and Grace Laumatia.

Annie and Foster hard at work back in 2016.

Friend, classmate and "outlaw," Chris Thompson.

Longtime friend Mow.  Gosh, it's been since the summer of 1965 when we both worked at Camp Neewahlu on Lake Coeur d'Alene.

It was a Mow "Wow" moment as she admired the beautiful rosary Annie brought from the Vatican.

Hard to believe it's been four years since we were having lunchtime meetings to plan our 50th-year high school class reunion.

I'm thinking that makes us pretty old.

A while back I joined these ladies on a trail ride at the Ginter Wildlife Management Area.

Twas a fun day with some fun peeps.
