We are starting the day with a cold, wet and sometimes windy morning after a whole night of rain.
They say the weekend will be nice.
I'll hold them to that cuz we've had enough moisture for a while. My horses fully agree, as the entrance to the barnyard is 100-percent mud soup.
As soon as it warms up again, the place should be extra pretty with lilac blooms, iris popping out and apple trees filled with lovely blossoms.
Several times during this Pandemic, we and others who live here have remarked how lucky we are to have our space and more than enough spring work to do.
We have really felt sorry for those stuck in apartment houses in large cities, knowing their lives have been so restricted.
Which brings me to the article I read this morning about how migrations may begin once the world reopens and travel begins anew.
This piece presents some interesting trends that may unfold, some of which are not surprising.

Lord knows what Sue was telling Wanda, but we can be sure it was light-hearted. Both are former students who were attending their 40th reunion. |
Classmate, friend and neighbor Gary Finney with grandson Logan (one of Willie's former journalism students) who now has started his own news service. You can find it on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lfinneynews/ Both Gary and Logan are proud Idaho Vandals. And, Logan worked in the Idaho Legislature this year. |
A former student and fun lady, Val Plaster, at the SHS 1975 reunion five years ago. |
Tina Wood Johnson and Steve Miller like to run. I caught them one day putting in their miles past our place. |
And there's that John Knowles a few years after he played football at Sandpoint High tormenting his friend and former Bulldog football coach Bill Barlow. |
Osaze sang at our Sandpoint High Class of 1965 reunion as her grandma Ruthann Kiebert Nordgaarden beamed with pride.. |
One of our extended family members Monty Collison with his mother, the late Linda Collison. |
What doesn't Judy Moon Labrie do as a quiet humanitarian? Great and humble and smart lady. |
Lorna Low and mom Jean Martin came one day a few years ago to "get the dirt." A good visit that day too. |
When we first moved to the Lovestead, these lovely ladies and great friends came to check it out. Terri Albertson, Shirley Parker and Myra Lewis. Back Row: Edna Iverson and the late Bev Chapin. |
Two Pat (Patti) and a Mitzi equal some truly local history and always great fun. |
A fun day at Schweitzer with some Girl Scout friends of Debbie's. |
Pensive Jacob. |

That photo was the 1964 track team , not the football team.
