Such gracious people are the Carlins, who purchased The Flower Farm on East Selle Road last year.
They welcomed me yesterday when I showed up with my camera to get a sneak peek at the results of their tender loving care and expertise at planting seeds and reaping delightfully beautiful results.
In their first full season of planning and planting, I'd say they've done a magnificent job.
It was fun getting to know many of the flowers and the baskets up close and personal AND to visit with Pam and John and their staff: Akasha, Lori and Alexis.
After my visit yesterday, I can assure all Flower Farm lovers that Pam and John have lived up to the high quality we have all enjoyed over the years at this Selle Valley bright spot.
They open for the season today at 9 a.m. So, if you're in need of a full dose of spring floral colors, you're in for a treat.
Finally, a few birthday-related Thursday Throwbacks below.
Happy Thursday.
Thursday Throwbacks . . . . It's about the Love family birthday boys today.
For some strange reason, the photo of Bill and Willie in front of the Gonzaga photo back in 2013, when the ZAGS were No. 1 in the nation for the first time ever, seemed appropriate today.
Willie's birthday is today; Bill's is tomorrow. In our book, they, like the ZAGS, are No. 1 in our hearts as well as in countless others.
Bill will enjoy part of his birthday celebration tonight in Seattle when he and Annie get together to watch the Mariners' season opener at Safeco Field.
Willie, Debbie and I will also get together here in Sandpoint for some celebrating of his 44th birthday.
Tomorrow and through the weekend, we'll all be together, celebrating here in Sandpoint.
I am in shock, thinking of that morning in 1977 when Bill and my lives changed forever. It truly does seem like just yesterday that Willie joined us.
What a ride it has been, joyful, to say the least, as we've watched our son grow from an adorable little boy to a much-respected man and beloved teacher and coach!
Can't ask for anything better as a parent, and I'm not "fooling" one bit.
Happy Birthday, W.E. Love III.
W.E. Love you, three times over.
