Sunday This, That and Jacinda

What fun is was this morning to scroll through photos of students dressed to the nines for last night's 2022 SHS Prom!

Gowns were beautiful, hors d'oeuvres looked delightful, and how the heck did I miss a black stretch limo carrying a couple to the prom from out here in the neighborhood???

So exciting to see the happy faces of both parents and students.

Twas also prom day in the Swedish town where Annie is spending the weekend.  She posted of video of what looks to be the entire class marching through the downtown in their gowns and suits.

That seems like a neat tradition.

Hard to believe another school year is ending and another class graduating from SHS.  Even 20 years after retiring, I still enjoy seeing the highlights of life for these students.

Speaking of SHS, check the group photo below, sent to me yesterday afternoon by former student Larisa Howell. Her mom Patti (also my kids' daycare owner)  was celebrating her 80th birthday.

While stopping by the house before the party, I was thrilled to see just about every member of Patti's immediate family.

Too bad it rained most of the day yesterday, but the group below looked like a little rain wasn't going to spoil their fun.

Congratulations on your milestone, Patti. And, thanks for the photo, Larisa.

This photo graphically demonstrates why I don't get too excited when it rains cats and DOGS.

I took this photo less than five minutes after I'd taken the dogs to their run yesterday.

I'd say Bridie's perspective on raining cats and DOGS differs from mine.  She loved it.

Happily, when Bill and I teamed up to hose her off in the afternoon, she was a good dog.  She probably knew that "toweling" was coming, and, have I mentioned before that our dogs love their toweling.

Below:  This past week, the little lettuce plants in the greenhouse kinda took off.

When they look so pretty like this one, I hate to spoil the image by turning them into a salad. It's time, though.

Swedish Images with Annie Love . . . .

Yesterday afternoon, while scrolling through my Facebook feed, I saw a comment about the video below.

Recognizing the prime minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, I clicked and listened.

Within seconds, I was captivated by the eloquence and the content of what she had to say while addressing the recent Harvard Commencement.

In my mind, especially after listening to this address, I view Jacinda Ardern as one of the great leaders of the world.

Viewers may not agree with every single issue she mentions in her speech.  Nonetheless, her ability as an inspiring, brilliant and likeable leader is evident from beginning to end.

I hope you have time to listen to what she had to say to the graduates because her thoughts are timely and relevant for the peoples of world in which we now live.
