Well, here at the Lovestead, we're feeling really good about the Bulldog basketball teams we fanatically follow.
All three have won championships, and we've been able to watch all three earn their championships. That includes the Sandpoint Bulldogs girls varsity team, which won a State Championship last week.
Yesterday, we tuned into BYU TV and watched the Gonzaga women defeat a tough Cougar team. That victory sealed the ZAGS ownership of the WCC league championship.
And, last evening we watched a great game, filled with over-the-top spirit from the crowd and laser-focused attention from all ZAGS players to hand St. Mary's a sound defeat in the Kennel.
They finished the Redemption job from the earlier St. Mary's loss, and now own a share of the WCC league championship with the Gaels.
The ZAGS men have also certainly redeemed themselves (with a 25-5 record) from all the naysayers who spent half the season asking, "What's wrong with the ZAGS?"
So, it's a good morning to be a Bulldog fan.
Now, for both Gonzaga teams, it's on to the Madness of March and the Big Dances.
And, from what we saw happen with top-ranked teams yesterday in both men's and women's NCAA competition, it's still anybody's ball game.
March should be fun, 'cept for the winter which has returned this morning in with snow falling and more snow predicted.
With that thought, I hope our teams keep their winning ways alive, at least until a hint of spring arrives.
I'm really happy to have my metal flowers around the place which start to emerge and display some color when the snow recedes.
I was also happy to enjoy some sense of spring yesterday when the sun was shining and wore a coat outside just a couple of times.
Big change from the previous cold blast.
This morning, while walking out to get the paper, I heard more sounds than usual with squirrels chattering in one area and chickadees singing out "CHEEEEEEZEburger in another.
Hope is in the air.
And, so we go putzing along, eager to see the winter end but fully away that it will only end when Mother Nature is ready.
Have a great Sunday.
