Round Top was looking pretty spectacular yesterday.
I'm pretty sure that's Lunch Peak to the right. New snow atop the Cabinet Mountains was downright stunning.
This is truly a week dominated by sports.
Thanks to our generous friend, Bill and Debbie attended last night's ZAGS vs Dons game at the Kennel.
That experience netted more than just another great victory for the ZAGS after their loss to St. Mary's (which, by the way, lost to Loyola Marymount last night).
Former ZAG and CBS sports commentator Dan Dickau was honored before the game when his jersey No. 21 was retired.
It's been a jersey-retiring year for Gonzaga with Kelly Olynyk's ceremony earlier in the season while WNBA great Courtney Vandersloot's is scheduled for tomorrow.
Bill and I will be there to watch her jersey retired as well as the ZAGS women's game.
Before that, however, we'll be attending Willie's game tonight at 7 p.m. at Les Rogers Gym.
We are all hoping that best 2 out of 3 happens tonight. If that's the case, the Bulldogs will go to state.
If it doesn't, we'll have decision time again tomorrow when we get home from the women's ZAGS game.
Bulldogs? or Bulldogs?
If that does happen, you can bet that we'll sacrifice by recording the ZAGS game with BYU, ask friend Kevin again for text commentary and cheer on the SHS Bulldogs.
With luck and if things go well tonight, that won't be a problem.
GO, BULLDOGS!
Then there's Sunday's Super Bowl. I'm a Chiefs fan, since Seattle didn't make it.
Nonetheless, the story of the brothers playing against each other will surely dominate the game. Seems like that could turn into a neat movie.
I have a hunch it will be a great game.
Over the years, I can't believe how I've turned into such a rabid sports fan. It helps when there's a long winter to forget and when your son is a high school coach.
Which, by the way, Bill and I are SO proud of Willie and how far he has progressed as a coach. He has a phenomenal team this year and wonderful assistants.
Bill likes to tell the story that we're 70-plusers who watched their son play in high school and still go watch their son's games.
Just a different perspective.
And, so the games go on. In between, we'll squeeze in the daily affairs, always knowing we'll be rewarded with another game to watch.
Happy Friday.
