It's the second time in my lifetime that "AI" has come into the language.

If you live on a farm with animals, you may be thinking "artificial insemination."

Over the decades, AI has become increasingly popular  as a convenient method for injecting the sperm of a superior speciMAN of a species into a FEMale of that same species.  

No need to transport the recipient for hundreds of miles for an amorous meeting with the benefactor/boyfriend/handsome dude when the important reproductive goods can be shipped and a professional artificial inseminator can facilitate the breeding.  

And, so when "AI" recently started showing up in conversations with indications of potential concerns, I'm sure a few farmers were listening up. 

Unrelated, though, but certainly a ubiquitous subject these days, it's a means of gleaning information. 

It took me a while to put my arms around what the heck they were talking about when referring to "artificial intelligence," now often referred to as "AI." 

After watching "60 Minutes" the other night, however, my humble and usually pretty slow brain kinda clicked. 

After watching the sample session with Scott Pelley, I decided that maybe now I'm armed with enough knowledge to know that AI usually has nothing to do with farm animals, unless ask your host to look up some information on artificial insemination.

No such attempt was made for this morning's post. Instead, I picked a couple of subjects somewhat familiar to me:  "Border Collies" and "Marianne Love from Sandpoint, Idaho."  

After all, who, when they finally figured out what it meant to Google, almost immediately plugged in their own name to see what the World Wide Web knew about them. 

Well, here we are again, trying out something new, like a microwave.  I still remember vividly when Ron Hunt, the perennial salesman, talked me in to considering a purchase of a microwave because it made good bacon, fast!

We still usually fry our bacon rather than zapping it, but to live a day without our microwave?  Not gonna happen!

I can't wait to see how fast the peeps of the world catch on to and swear by Artificial Intelligence aka "AI." 

And, I pity the poor English teachers when all the little kiddies figure out how handy it can be, even better than Google. 

D'ya suppose that the dreaded research paper assignment will become defunct?  

I'll tell you this morning that this former English teacher is on the ground floor (maybe even the basement) with her knowledge of AI.

But, still,  it's fun to try, and that's exactly what I did.
