A great Saturday in Seattle
We packed it all in yesterday from dawn 'til dusk, experiencing the Seattle scene and part of a big weekend that brought nearly 100,000 baseball and country Western fans to the two downtown stadiums.
At one time concert-goers and baseball fans formed a seemingly endless sea of humanity, as the Mariners aka Steelheads game ended in an extra innings loss to the Chicago White Sox and the main event at the George Strait concert was about to begin.
It was a day of rain and wind, but that didn't stop people from enjoying themselves.
Bill enjoyed his fish and chips at Ivers. Annie and I saved our calories for the ball park franks and beer. Later, we dined at Saffron Grill in Northgate.
It's an Indian and Mediterranean restaurant with excellent service and wonderful food. The sit down dinner provided a good time to visit and plan for today's adventure.
We'll be leaving at 6 a.m. to drive north to Anacortes where we'll catch the ferry and see the San Juan Islands, disembarking at Friday Harbor.
This destination is a first for Bill and me, and we're are really looking forward to seeing, for the first time, a popular area we've heard about for years.
I'm sure my cameras will be busy throughout the day.
So far, the weekend adventure has been busy but loaded with fun times.
Happy Fathers Day to all, and Happy Sunday.
